Archbishop’s Palace Conservation Trust receives support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery

The Archbishop’s Palace Conservation Trust is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

The  Trust has been awarded £9,400 from the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust to enable us to complete the essential preparation for the building stabilisation works and to extend our outreach programme for schools in North-West Kent and South-East London providing resources and speakers to support and improve understanding of the heritage of the Darent Valley.

Andrew Goymer, Chair of the Trust, said: “These are difficult times for everyone. Heritage buildings, such as the Archbishop’s Palace in Otford have a valuable contribution to make through promoting wellbeing and engagement with the historic environment.”

Nick Fothergill, Trustee with responsibility for the Otford Heritage Collection said: “The educational outreach programme will provide resources and speakers to support and improve understanding of the heritage of the Darent Valley. These will be linked to the national curriculum.”
